What's the best? Going to be doing a few K's... Wearing a suit so the truck needs to look good... Also want reasonable off road ability.

Jeep Wrangler would be ideal but have heard about their lack of reliability and fuel consumption. A nice new Sierra lifted and tyred would be ok too...

Any other suggestions? I don't want a big truck either... What happened to the SWB Discovery? Any around? Were they a lemon?

Thanking you in advance :)

Cheers

An X3 BMW will make a nice looking business four wheel drive & I suspect will probably more than service your current offroad needs ;-)
I will stand corrected but I don't believe there ever was a short wheel base version of the Discovery, only 2 & 4 door versions. Possibly mixed up with the 90 series SWB Defender, but then you'd still have reliability issues. The yellow "Extreme" shorty does look good though.

Why don't you go and have a look at the Dodge Nitro, I have mentioned it before and got shot down in flames by blokes who had never seen one or driven one , I think I would rather a Nitro that a Hummer, at least it has a 2.8 CRD option. Also it has a hug range of features standard. Check the Specs in the website
Have a look at the Beast

You don't mention a price range so I guess anything goes.

The new Range Rover Sport looks great is brilliant off road and the black one would match your dinner suit and bow tie.
