Stockton Beach

Hi All, Up at Stockton today. There was 8 vehicles, gotta love auto in the sand. Locked in second gear, high range lock, power button on, 20psi all round and all was good. Just plant the foot and go most of the time stayed in second but it changed back to first on a few of the steeper dunes but good having the grunt to get plenty of run up. No signs of tranny getting hot (dash light) no additional cooler etc. 3 hilux's, 2 prados, 1 patrol, 1 pajero, and 1 kluger. The D4D hilux's flew, Pajero, Prado's, and patrol 3litre no probs. Now the kluger !!! I was very hesitant wether to leave in carpark and spread the 5 occupants of them around in the other vehicles. No problems what soever. It had no problems along the botom part closer to the water, in the deeper stuff no problems, and climbing the dunes flew up them. Was very impressed, plenty of power on tap, couple of times it dragged its belly but in general was great. It was also auto and no heating issues with tranny either. All up had a great day and all vehicles survived and got home safely. Regards Steve M

Hi Stephen,
I'm pleased to hear that you had a good day out, even with the Kluger.
After all the doomsayers in post 49294 had said their piece on the Kluger's "lack" of capability, they all seem to be very quiet now.
Of course, if the Kluger had been stuck, it would've been the first vehicle (of any type) to have been stuck at Stockton, AKA "Bog Beach"

Cheers,
Wayne.

PS. One day they will understand.
