Out There
Camper trailer is packed and ready to go. Patrol serviced and breaks done. Work told to shove it for five weeks and mobile phone turned off. Maps checked and bookings made. Beer and food packed (inthat order). Looks like I'm going to be able to take the new camper trailer out into the country side and see some stuff.
I have no idea about fishing in the Kimberly Ranges particularly around the National Parks area. Bunyeroo and Brachina areas in particular. What sort of fish am I likely to be feeding and what do they like to bite. (You know the old saying it's not the actual catching of the fish that's relaxing)
I know this is getting long but has anyone been to Chambers Gorge. Is it worth going to and what is there to see or do.
Thanks for reading. Look forward to your replies.
Let you know how it goes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Scott.

Kimberley Ranges?????????
The
places you mention are in the
Flinders Ranges and as dry as an old camels' fart Maybe you will find some tadpoles in the odd
creek but I doubt if you will find fish.

Sorry about that, brain snap.
Can't think of more than one thing at a time.
I meant the
Flinders Ranges. Just thought that some of the gorges might have had
water running through them. But they don'e seem to.
Do I take it then that the fishing rod etc would be waisted on this particular treck?

G'day Scott
You are not getting much help are you.....
I have just driven thro the Flinders on the way back from
Birdsville.
Leave the fishing rod home, but bring the camera. The Flinders is verrry dry, but there is a reasonable display of
wildflowers in
places.
Suggest you carry plenty of
water. Visit the Parachilna (
Prairie Hotel) and
Blinman hotels for coldies and a good meal. There is not much firewood in the
creek campsites, so collect it along the way.
Search out the private PAR (public access roads) 4wd tracks (eg. Sky Trek) on this website if you want some spectacular scenery - but there is plenty to see from the public roads. See also
Arkaroola.
Have a good trip, Dalb

Thanks Dalb,
I'll leave it at home. I don't suppose you have any information about Chambers Gorge. We are still wondering if we should add this to the trip plan or not.
Scott.

I have not been to Chambers Gorge for 30 years, but I remember that it was worth a visit with native rock carvings and wild life about. Access was not difficult.
cheers, Dalb

Hi-Out There. Chambers Gorge is worth visit - you can
camp next to
water in there last time I went there I mended the puntures in my air bed in a huge pool. Can't what time of the year it was though.
Happy Days

I think your a bit confused. Where your going, you'd have more luck tossing a lure at feral goats.
LOL

MMM Flinders/kimberlys interesting:))
Re Chamber Gorge, great place, you used to be able to drive it's full length which was quite a few km's. Can only drive to
the entrance now. What to do there, drink some of the beer if you have any left, after that walk
the gorge(maybe not in that order). You can
camp there too, quite nice.
Carry plenty of
water! If you awake to the sound of someone getting murdered it's just the goats. There is usually enough firewood around as this is not
wilpena pound.
Enjoy.
Regards Lyndon
Ps, as said no need for the rod :))
