I have purchased an Engel fridge with a slide.
My question is what are the pitfalls in mounting the slide in a Patrol? I lifted the carpet and find a cover for the fuel
tank sensors. What else do I need to look out for.
many thanks
Gordon

How bad is that?
People sell stuff and offer no advice or help as to how to fit the item. Have no idea of how it will or will not fit into a given vehicle.
They knock out a fridge slide at an exorbitant price and don't give you any help for the profit they have made.
Take it back, get a refund and find a committed retailer who will offer you some technical advice, help and service.
You shouldn't have to go onto a
forum to seek the knowledge that should have been provided to you.
ATB,
Jim.

You are expecting every salesperson to know every possible fitting method to every vehicle. Wow, that's some oustanding in-store training.

True, but wouldn't that be the manufacturers job!
It is an equally simple task to ask for the collective wisdom of this fine
forum too !

I bet a waco fridge slide would have every fitting instruction for every car and even if you want it on the left hand side or the right or even in the middle.
Sorry just me being bad :)

Cut a sheet of Ply to fit in the back of the Patrol and fix the slide to that. To fix the ply fix it to the captive nuts in the floor.

that's what I have done. I also used those captive t-nuts to fix the slide to the ply.

As others have said, use some MDF (or ply) and then utilise the mounting points already in the floor. You'll feel much happier drilling holes in your ply than in your car ;-)

Thanks for the replies.
I was suprised not to find an instruction sheet in the box of goodies.
The idea of mounting the slide to MDF is a marvelous idea, so I'll be looking at that method.
Thanks again for the input.

I personally would go with ply wood as I feel MDF is too heavy and not necessarily as strong.
