Hi all has anyone ever fitted a cooler to a navara 03 3.0 TD before whether it be top mount or in front of the radiator.? Are there any negatives by doing either of these?? Is it worth doing.?
Any feed back is very much appreciated
Thank you

Would only be worth doing if you were planning on doing other mods. ie more boost. If you were to fit a top mount cooler it would require a big hole in your bonnet and some sort of bonnet scoop. Might be able to pinch one from a 3lt patrol? A front mount intercooler may effect engine cooling. ie restricting air flow into the radiator. Also if it were t hang down too low there is the risk of damaging it. The Navara has a pretty good engine package, there might be better things to spend your hard earned on.
Just some food for thourght.
Cheers, Andrew

Is it worth the Risk?
There has been a bit said about 3.0 Nissan motors in the patrol(with intercooler) in regards to having too much stress put on a little motor, however, I haven't came across the same level of negative comments RE Navara, Is it because it doesn't have to work as hard?
I personally would not go looking for extra at of THAT motor,You might get more than you bargained for.

I have fitted an from a patrol to my 02 navara. It is a tight fit but can be done. I also used a bonnet scoop from a patrol & got the local panel beater to fit it. It has improved fuel economy a bit & seems to hang on better on hills. 4wd systems in make a front mount intercooler but I have only seen photo's of it fitted to a left hand drive vehicle. I haven't fitted a chip yet but that's next. I can send you the pics I have if you want
