Hi all,
After reading numerous posts regarding the pro's of safety barriers , I managed to pick one up off Ebay for my 2005 Prado GXL, but when the guy dropped it off, I was told that I would have to buy the fitting kit as the original one remains in the car it was fitted to.
I've been quoted $99.00 by 1 local Milford agent in the Sutherland Shire and as much as $180.00 by another.
Does anyone know where one can be bought cheaper and secondly, where are the mounting points within the vehicle and how difficult are they to fit?

cheers,

Dobbo60

Thanks Pete, I forgot about that site.
I''ve had a look tonight. There doesn't seem to be anything specific but I'm starting to get the idea.

Dobbo,

Try Town and Country Vehicle Accessories in Beverly Hills.
Ph 9758 2500.

Ask to speak to Brad (a fitter) or Greig the owner.

I have no affiliation other than being a happy customer, if Mark answers ask to speak to one of the other 2 as Mark is a wanker :)

Cheers Kev

Hi Dobbo

$99.00 is a good price.

Take note that you may need to remove both rear panels and drill holes for the mountings.

The last one that I fitted required the rear panels drilled and mounting points fitted behind them.

Just a tip. When you remove the lower seat belt bolts first pull out some slack and tie a knot. You will thank me later.

Regards

Derek.

Thanks Derek, you've come to the rescue once again.
I'll grab that kit and set about installing it shortly.
I seem to recall that removing the rear panels was a bit of an issue when I was putting in the fridge socket a while ago but I guess I'll nut it out when I get the kit, and yeah, I remember about the seat belt bolts!

cheers,
Dobbo

Try ringing Goannawhere based in adelaide....they make cargo barriers - they might be able to make the brackets for you - our cargo barrier from them cost $250....

Hi Dobbo60,
I just fitted one in my Prado last weekend and still have the instructions which tell you where and what size to drill the holes etc. I am happy to scan it and email to you. However, if you buy the fitting kit it should be in the plastic bag. See how you go.
Cheers
