I've been agonizing over whether to go for a Camec shower/hot water system in the van or a Twine/Glind shower for the car. Then I saw these which look like a compromise, and more versatile version. Best of both worlds. Any thoughts?

I have a $20 camp shower from Jaycar(in fact I have 2....one is for pumping water for drinks or food preparation etc). All the attributes of the Aussie Camp shower without the gas. Just boil some water, get the temperature right, put the submersible pump into the water and have your shower. Too easy

Cheers

I assume you have considered where a unit will go in a van that currently doesn't have one, the extra plumbing and water tank, etc?

Have you considered a Coleman or Primus gas instant hot water unit, like the Hot water on Demand?

Rather than muck around with your vehicle plumbing or try and permanently fit a unit into a van you get portable unit that also runs off LPG. Like the Glind/Twine you still need a gas bottle and water source. Plus they're cheaper.

Coleman HWOD

Primus Hot Water

Like Willem, I use the cheapo shower - not convinced about the Coleman and even less so, the Primus. Either go the whole hog and have a system plumbed into the van or stick with the old pump + bucket of water. Probably.

head says "stick with the $25 job Stevie" but I just feel that impulse isn't far away.

Trouble is, the cook has started reading all my 4x4 mags and is becoming worse than me! Never thought I'd come home to the Mrs saying " what d'you think of these air-locker things" I think I'm about to become the handbrake!!!!!!!
