I have a TrakShak camper trailer which started out white.
After 12 months of use along dirt roads it now has many chip marks from stones hitting it.
How can I repair these marks as I want to spend some maintenance time.
Thanks - Michael

I would fit a stone deflector firstly to reduce the stone chipping then touch up the paint.
Cheers Kev

I spray the old camper every year and it cleans it up a treat. Every trip takes some off again just one of those things when you go off the bitumen. You should see all the dings on the Hilux. Souveniers I call them.

Find some thin aluminium chequer plate and use Sikaflex to bond it to the front faces that get stone chipped.
It's easy to keep clean and looks pretty neat if you take the time to cut and fix the sheets correctly.

I agree with what WRYSS suggested. The checkerplate does the trick along with the stone deflector. It looks pretty mean when polished up also.

We have a Trak Shak too,, and have the same problem, no more than last years trip, which after the big "wanker" mudflaps got smashed, by GIBBER, then the stone guard, then the chips. I really think its all part of it, but Peter at Trak Shak in S.A sold us an update on the " trampaline " style stone-guard, so at least 1/2 the problem is solved. The drawbar is serious thick c-section, and I went over it with a grinder, sandpaper and a wire brush, then used an etching priming paint, but thats as far as it went
I had, at one stage contemplated re-spraying it. But it wouldn't matter, as just after one trip to
Birdsville, or down the old Ghan Rail, to Dalhousie it would look the same anyway, and that to me is money wasted.
Our tent and the rest of the CT is all fine and that, as far as we are concerned, is all that matters. By the way the left side was 24mm lower than the right, so a mate and myself swapped them over, and now there is only 5mm difference. neat trick, eh ?. Will have to keep an eye on them, and maybe replace both springs after this travelling season season.
I did like the idea of the Alluminium Checkerplate, but it wont happen on thisTrak Shak, as I am not that neat.
Cheers Mate

We've just bought a 2nd hand Trak Shak and the last owner covered the front in stainless steel, very neat job.
Cheers,
Mark.

More specifically, the outer edges, not the tailgate or the 'suitcase' up top. It also has a stone guard.
