I was looking at the front hubs in the Pic, don't look like free wheelers, but then neither did my 1962 Series 2 Landrover, I used 2 honed out hubs as free wheelers, if one got stuck or needed 4x4 I had to undo the bolts and swap the hubs to one's that had the splines ,

Hi Doug and all,
At first glance it looked a bit like a "Minerva"which was sort of based on the series 1 Landrover but made in Belgium.
On closer looks with the picture enlarged, it's definitely a home made special. No respectable manufacturer would use "T" bar handles on doors or what look like door handles on the hood/bonnet.
The front axle hub looks like it may have come from a 2wd International 15cwt ute of the late 50's/early 60's and the rear hub is typical of single wheel diffs of the same era.

The International badge was typical of those fitted to the "C" and "D" series Inter trucks of the mid/late 60's.

I'm old enough to have been around in the 50's and 60's, but young enough not to have forgotten what things looked like then.

Regardless of what it is, it looks a fairly professional job.

Cheers

Disco.

Franga,

Definately home made I reckon, nothing like either of the Inter Scouts that came here in the body department. My guess if the running gear is Inter is that it is a pretty well made body done by someone who looked long and hard at a series 2 Landy and added a small touch of G60 Nissan Patrol.

There were plenty of Scouts imported into Oz in the 60s. There is still a NSW club for them - International Scout Owners Club - scout@4wdnsw.org.

I agree with Paul. Inter Scout. I recognise the windscreen (sad, I know).....

They also did one that looks like a miniature Ford Bronco, and I think that was the last shape sold in Oz (late 70's or very early 80's).

Evening All,

Pretty ordinary vehicle, the Inter Scout.

They had one on a station, in NT, that I went to in '64, and it had spent most of it's working life in the workshop. The harmonic balancer was situated just above the front diff. Hit a hard bump, and the axle destroyed the h/balancer.

It's last finale was when crossing the wheel tracks of South Barkly stockroute, with yours truly under control( well barely), and the front axle tube snapped. Spent a long day waiting to be rescued, and missed out on a good sunday lunch.

Had new Toyota Landcruiser the next year, and that's the way it's stayed since, on most stations.

Hooroo...
Seen it all, Done it all.
Can't remember most of it.
