Picked up the Navara on Friday arvo from the gas installer. Am very pleased with the installation eg, position of the gas
tank under body etc.The performance of the vehicle is very noticeable, a lot more torque at lower revs and leaps away when the turbo comes in. Motor is running a lot quieter and temp gauge sits about a needle width lower. Gas
tank holds 38 Ltr gas and am told this will last about three tanks of diesel. We are going on a trip up to the Murchison (WA) next week so will get a better idea of how the whole setup goes including fuel consumption. They remove the main muffler to fit the gas
tank in its place and fit a small resonator behind the
tank. This makes no difference to to the noise level and passed Dep transport inspection. I will post another report after the trip for those interested. Nav.

Hey m8 I think you will find that the lpg will not last for 3 tanks. My system on 3ltr patrol lasts for about 90ltrs diesel.
But then
mine may be cranked up a little more.

G`Day Dieseljuice,, You could be right, not a big problem if I don't get 3 tanks,
mine holds 38Ltrs. What sort of fuel consumption are you getting? and how do you find your system? Regards Nav.

Look dont get me wrong I love the Navara, tough as hell, BUT
Would be interested to find out weather it actually drops the EGT. My Navara runs at 580 + under load, post turbo. By all accounts on the
forum, that's a bit on the high side, but what can you do ?.
How does your Nissan Warranty go ? or do they not advise it ?
Cheers Mate

G`Day Bucky,,,A good question on the EGT. I brought this up with the installer and he claimed the gas lowers the EGT, actually two installers claimed this to be the case. Now this dose not sound quite right to me in theory but I have to accept their advice as I expect they know their job. I only have the standard temp gauge to go on and the engine definitely seems to run a little cooler. With regards to warranty the dealers claim it void with gas but, when I mentioned this he claimed it has already been tested in court and the judge ruled in favour of the vehicle owner. Anyway its done now and time will tell as I am on a ten day trip next week so will give you all a report after that. The installer I used has been in the business for some time and has done quite a few Navaras with no problems so far. Regards ,,,Nav.

Nav8, mind if I ask cost and type of system? Is it computerised,or essentially "set and forget"
We're looking at a 3L Rodeo fit. Have replaced exhaust, but currently in 'go slow' mode.
Look forward to your update.
Jeff.

Jeff,,Total cost was $3800.00 + $65 inspection fee. Rebates are $2000.00 Fed Gov and $1000.00 from WA state Gov. Total cost to me $865.00,don't know if QLD Gov do a rebate. I guess you could call it the set and forget system, not computerised, appears to be a very simple system with few components. Regards,,Nav.

Hey M8,
I have done about 20,000 with the gas now. It makes the truck a completely different vehicle, almost too quick and responsive as I find it tricky to sit on the speed limit, plus I have bigger 305/70 tyres which did slow it down a bit before the gas conversion. Nxt time iI get back to
Perth I may get them to wind it back a bit!!
I have had no problems and it delivers all they say it does, less smoke, quieter running, more power and torque. Best mod you could ever do!!
I get an extra 200klms to my
tank at the price of gas which is a bonus.
Cheers
DJ

Thanks N8: good of you to reply so quickly.
Prices seem similar to Qld, except for the State refund. Systems here vary by almost $2000, so a bloke could be out of pocket by roughly $1500 to $3500, depending on system chosen.
Mate, will look for your report upon your return.
Thanks again eh.
Jeff.
