Hay River

Off to Birdsville and Hay River in the morning. I guess its pretty heavily used but I'll report back on conclusion in about ten days.

Yes I do have permits (for the sceptics).

Bob, unless things have changed since July, it shouldn't pose too many hassles. Enjoy.

Nice place Bob , have a great trip - don't think it will be very busy out there , it still quiet remote and I feel more interesting than main dessert crossings.

Try driving some of the river bed if you get the chance.

The Hay River is a great trip travelled it twice, the first time we had many sections without any defined track, last year it was relatively easy to follow the track.
The River bed first thing in morning looks rich and smooth, like icing on a cake.
