Talk about hanging around until help arrives. Would have been good to see the complete recovery of the vehicle off the bridge.

I bet there are a couple of companies who might be hoping it was their hitching system on the vehicle!!!!!. Has anyone heard what hitch they did have?

Apparently the wife remained trapped in the vehicle for some time (hours). I'm sure she would be relieved to be safe and would happily claim the success of the hitch not failing was in the 'hands of the Lord'. A very fortuitous escape for all involved. As to the cause, who knows, could have been anything from driver, to vehicle, to other party etc.

According to the wifes comments it was the steel girder that punched through the front of the 100 series and stopped 300mm from her that stopped them going right over.
