Well that's the World Cup finished for us. England have kicked the Wobbilies out of the comp for the second time in a row.
The sheep lovers from across the Tasman have also been sent home by the home nation France (A team who couldn't win the opening game).

Lets hope that the South Africans can go the whole way now as I don't want a northern hemisphere country to get the Bill again.

Cheers Kev

I think that I is just not Rugby when they can win a game on penalty goals only. At least we scored a try.

Head like a bowling ball Kev,

Last night I packed every scrum, cleaned out every ruck and maul. The silly buggers still couldn't win!

What does it matter who wins as long as we see some good running rugby and some good old sports manship, the stuff that make decent people feel good.

Neil,

The Boks play 'thugby' and the Poms definitely don't play running Rugby.

The Pom's are the black holes of world rugby, they suck the life out of the game rather than putting some life into their own game.

I would say cane toads, the French are not adverse to thugby, they are renown for dirty tactics, I am not suggest the boks are angels but last nights game was one of the best of this world cup, like it not. The island nations always entertain, and also known for taking no prisoners, it is as with everything in life we all have our own slant on things.
As I said before give me a game of open running rugby, no crying it's a mans game after all if you don't like the hard stuff there is always old mans marbles,(bowls)
cheers and enjoy the rest of the cup.

G'day one and all, yes I was born in Seth Efrica, but after 40 years consider myself, australian, been more places in Aus and know more about the country than most Aussies.
I remember a test match at Suncorp, Wallabies v Boks, and when my hero, Phil Waugh scored I was so excited,I jumped up cheering, much to the surprise of the security guy standing next to me, who wanted to know why someone wearing a bok jumper was so ecstatic about Wallabies scoring. Well it was a good tough game, a bit to much kicking, and as I said Phil Waugh is my kind of player tough relentless and gives 110 %. Next of course is George Smith, no whinging or tears.

Hi Neil,
It was what I'd call a great game of rugby, hard and tight in the forwards. Real take no prisoners stuff.

With great backline play too.

None of this 10 man negative rugby.

Hi Geoff, yes we need open rugby in order to stand up to the other codes we have here.
I really want to be brought to my feet without realising it then I know it has been a top game, I am a Souths supporter in rugby league, suppose that says it all.
Cheers neil

Acknowledgments here to Fab Fenton, the author. Nowhere does he mention stifling and kicking, see: Fenton

THE SPIRIT OF THE WALLABIES

There’s a spirit in the Wallabies
Mere words cannot describe,
It’s as if they had descended
From some legendary tribe.

There’s a kinship, a tradition
As in days so long since past,
Of crusades, of knights in armour
And of men before the mast.

There’s a thrill you can’t appreciate
A pride you cannot tell,
Lest you wear your nation’s jumper
And you wear it really well.

When you mark before the forward rush
So doing turn the tide,
When you make that vital tackle
And your line is open wide.

When you go down on the rolling ball
And dare the tramping feet,
When you lift your aching body
And the opposition meet.

When you burst away from tacklers
And you make the winning run,
When you come back heart a-thumping
And your team mates say, ‘well done’.

But it isn’t just the winning
Nor the scoring nor the cheers,
It’s the friendships and the memories
That last you through the years.

It’s the camaraderie
That’s born of valour not of fame,
It’s the sheer exhilaration
When you play the running game.

Channel 10 has just released a statement - they apologise for not showing the rugby match last night, instead screening "the biggest loser"

I wonder how good England could be if they learnt to score tries as well as kick girlie goals.

Mmmmmmmm, now where do we go next?

I'm with you guys. Imagine any team coming up with a game plan that uses your strengths and negates those of the opposition.

Outrageous, someone should ban this practice from international Rugby and force other teams to play to our strengths.

P.S. I say 'Go the Poms' and I hope they come up against the Pumas in the final. 25 years on, it would be a bit like a reunion for those two countries. Good to watch.
