I cannot get the driver software for the Globalsat BU-353 to install properly on my Toshiba laptop running Vista home premium. I have tried the Vista driver downloads from Globalsat Taiwan and their USA web sites. There is no problem loading the standard driver on my PC running XP Pro. Has anyone experienced this problem and found a solution?
I cannot backtrack to installing XP Pro on the Toshiba laptop as Toshiba state they do not have drivers to suit their Vista designed computers.

It does work on my Toshiba laptop running Viata home basic. I DID have to install it twice, the second time manually, telling it where to install the program. (I uninstalled everything of the first attempt before trying it again the next day with success).
However, it runs differently than on my other laptop that has XP pro.
With Vista I cannot get the GPSinfo screen to open on the desktop, it runs from within Oziexplorer fine - which is all I wanted to do anyway.
On the XP pro lappy a desktop page can be opened from the GPSinfo icon and satellite data displayed without having to open Oziexplorer.

Good luck, you just need to perservere wit that one ;-)

What model Toshy laptop? Most of them DO have XP drivers - just not on the Tosh OZ site ;-)

Some models are named different overseas - let me know the model and I will see if I can point you to the right place :-)

I know your going to reply asking how......
Place Cursor on the Icon, right click, choose Properties, select Compatibility Tab, tick the square in Compatibility Mode section,[Run this program in Compatibility for] and in the drop down menu select Widows XP, Click Apply / OK,

That just might entice it to work, I know that process worked on my Daughters PC running Vista for a Farm Map Software designed for XP
