Is it possible to fit 235/85x16 tyres on an otherwise standard 2005 4WD Hilux without modifying the suspension? does anyone know of any downsides of fitting this sized tyre? The Hilux looks substantially undertyred with its 205R16's. Thanks

we have done afew with lift with 265's and with some fender mods 285's on flared models.

rim offset is important to get right.

I was actually looking for some larger tyres that I could bung on the standard wheels that didn't foul the guards or chassis without a suspension lift. Looking at the car I would have thought there was plenty of room for larger tyres. Any thoughts? Thanks

Michael with that size tyres it wont pull the hat off your head, as they are undewrpowered. what motor do you have? This is the reason I never put bigger tyres on my 4runner

The vehicle has the turbo 3litre diesel so should I think have enough power, but interested in your opinion.
