Days away(15 June-3Oct.) 110 days
Distance travelled 20784 kms
Cost of diesel $4361.2
Ave. price of diesel $ 142.50
Dearest fuel price $ 175.00 (
Cape Crawford)
Cheapest fuel price $125.90 (
Cairns)
Camping costs--Caravan parks $804 (mostly bush camped)
Pigs shot 29 (5 nice boars)
Mud crabs lots
Cerrabin lots
Oysters lots
fish f------all

Anyway it was a great trip and not nice getting back to this cold weather in
Perth, but always can look forward to next year.I went to two
places Ihadn,t been before---Vrylia Point and
Cape Melville which I really enjoyed--great
camp spots.Met some E.O. members on the way---Willem at Butterfly Springs,Oldsquizzy at

p.s. did the whole trip without one puncture.

G'day Rambler
Good to hear you had a safe trip and not one puncture. Yeah what a chance meeting at Butterfly Springs...and thanks for sharing the coconuts with us. My trek north and south again included mostly dirt roads and I saw some country I had not been through before. I am also wondering what I am doing here in this cold weather...lol
Cheers

Good trip, pity about the price of diesel.
So leading question, to which tyre God do you offer incantations? :o)
You are going to be asked sooner or later as people try and prove their God is the best by your experience. :o)))

I suppose I should have mentioned what tyres Iused. For years now I have been using Hankooks 235/85/16 A.T. on split rims with virtually zero problems.I never had a good run with Roadgrippers that are fitted to new Troopys and have stayed with the Hankooks.I have my own
views from experience on tyre pressures and never drop my pressures below 45 p.s.i. unless in very soft sand.It has worked for me on the rough gravel and corrugations, but may not work for non splits or other tyres.Of course half worn tyres are not the way to go on these extended trips.

Rambler
Are you using a 75 Sako to shoot with? Looks very similar to
mine.

Kim,
No, the rifle Iuse on pigs is a stainless synthetic 243 Ruger.Ihave responded to your other post about trade in on your Sako which is a very fine gun.My other rifles are Anshutz and Bruno.
