The idle up on the air- con doesn't work on a 100 series is this a fuse or something else.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers Steve.

Hi Steve
This could be one of three things all easy and cheap
Check that the vacumm hose is on at both ends
The idle up unit may need adjusting
The engine idle is already high enough that the unit is not lifting the idle
This is for a diesel can not tell you about petrol motors

Most diesels are Vacuumn Controlled using an Actuator just near the Throttle or Injection Pump. Most Fuel Injected Petrol Engines use an Idle Air Control Motor on the Throttle Body unnder the Air Cleaner. If It's a Carby Engine then it also has a Vacuumn Actuator on the Throttle.

The Toyota's were notorious for having a faulty Solenoid located on the inner guard. The solenoid has 2 wires and two Vacuumn lines going to it. This solenoid controlls the Vacuumn going to the "Idle Up" actuator.. Toyota want an Astronomical Price for that solenoid. I used to use a second hand solenoid from an Emission Controlled Vehicle. They work just the same.

Good luck..
