HI,
Does anyone out there know of aftermarket globes that will fit in the alti/sub fuel
tank gauge of an 80 series cruiser (overhead console)?
They are similar to LED size but have a circular base with +ve and -ve tabs.
Preferably in
Melbourne would be appreciated. The Toyota part number is 84999-50280 and $10 each seems a bit steep.
Thanks,
Rob

I couldn't find any when looking last year, so bit the bullet and bought the Toyo parts.

Think you will find that the globes are the same as the globes in the switches , sub
tank- rear demister ect ect , I picked up replacement globes at "Aussie Auto" but would think that Repco would also have them , seem to remember that paid 50cents each ,,

Thanks Axel,
I have been looking at the Narva website and they seem to have a very similar globe as
well.
Thanks again

Hi Robnicks,
remove the old globe from its plastic holder and replace it with a "
water-clear" light emitting diode as near as possible to the diameter of the original globe with a resistor in series. Jaycar. Dick Smith or Altronics should have them and will advise you of the value resistor to use. When you remove the blown globe you will see what is required. You end up with the LED where the old globe was and a resistor on the opposite side. LEDs are polar so if it won't come on turn the new "globe" 90 degrees and it will work. It is much cheaper than buying a new overhead console and will last forever.

Doug,
Thanks for the reply. I just removed the globe from the holder and see what you mean. I will go to Jaycar later today.
thanks again,
Rob
