For all those weird Nissan Patrol lovers out there LOL
I saw in the latest 4WD Monthly (now Action) Mag that Nissan has released the new Patrol Cab Chassis with the 3.0l common rail diesel motor. I wonder how they will go with selling them now that Mr Toyota has the V8 4.5l in the Landcruiser (King On and Off the Road).
Cheers Kev

From the few bits and pieces I have read, most people were wondering why they didn't put the Cummins 5.9l V8 into it. That would have matched, actually exceeded, the Landcruiser and still met the emission standards.
I suppose one can only dream.

I am one of tose who want the Cummins 5.9 CRD, but its no V8 just a bloody great inline six!!!, lower rego :). The new 24 valve CRD turbo does 244kw and 881Nm, so it definately exceeds the Cruisers 151/430 figures.
I drove a Dodge Ram 2500 HD with one of these motors and a six speed allison tipshift auto, it is advisable to push head into head rest before hitting the loud pedal or whiplash is a very large possibilty.
Nissan have had the
suspension, running gear and chassis right for nigh on 20 years, just always let down in the engine department.

Why would you buy a ZD30 3litre Patrol ute when you can save a heap by buying a ZD30 3litre Navara ute??

Axle, I think thats about all!
$33k for the Navara or $49k for the Patrol. That rigid front is pretty expensive.
Navara has the greater payload!
