Hi Crew
Has anyone purchased or used a Spinfex 4wd self inflating camping mat from Anaconda? If so, are they any good?
I appreciate your thoughts.
Cheers

i use them. they are better than sleeping on the ground or an air mattress but not as good as my own bed

take up alot of space but i have a trailer. use a space blanket underneath them to keep some heat in

Have been using the 10cm Spinifex 4WD mats which I got from Anaconda. Pretty comfortable if you ask me - I get a pretty good sleep every night on them and they self inflate/deflate quite well. So far so good. No problems to report.

Hi Flick I think its the same brand that we have, we used ours in august for period of 3 weeks travelling the gulf and found them to be great.
We used to single side by side with a fitted Queen size sheet.
The reason we went this way was one person can roll up mattress by themselves where I think it would be a real struggle to roll up a double or Queen by ones self.
Also easier to pack in vehicle and we have no problem rolling them up to very close the same size as they come.
If you need anymore info let me know.

Regards

Franga

Flick totally agree with Franga,We found the same thing with ours (queen size). Great to sleep on but a total bastard to roll up. Tryed doing it myself the other weekend and bleep me off so just threw it on top of camper under the cover and bought it home that way after the weekend. Wish I would have thought of Bens idea and took it back and swapped it for two singles. That is the only issue we have with ours. We do manage to roll it up when there's two of us and fit it back into the cover.. Regards Steve

Agreed also

2 singles with a queen size fitted sheet means a big lump like me doesn't send the missus flying across the room when i fall into bed.

And can set the firmness to suit each person (of the mattress that is ;) )

I bought one last week.

Initially I bought a double as it just fit into my tent. I then tried to roll it up at home. What a struggle.

I then exchanged it for a single and it's so much easier.

Having 2 singles is a great idea but do they move apart during the night?

Geelong Anaconda still has the "opening sale continues" specials. Double is $99, single is $79. Just bought the double but got it for $80-(long story). I have no trouble rolling up the double by myself. But I dont expect to get it to original size! Make sure after buying you let it inflate fully at home even if it takes a couple of days the first time. If it doesnt then take it back. About half of them get returned from what Ive heard and experienced. Rays will match the price and you get a pillow with theirs.
Cheers Boris
