Lake Gregory is a good trip from Balgo. A fresh
water lake with silver perch, enormous amount of bird life (including hundreds of brolga), hundreds of wild "thorough bred" horses and two primitive
camping grounds. Can come out on
Canning Stock Route past
Stretch Lagoon to Billiluna, and back on
the Tanami Track

When we drive that way back in 94 from Billiluna to the south there had been lots if rain prior and the Lake was flooded
well beyond its normal watercourse. We had to drive a long a faint track made by locals and previous travellers to skirt the lake to the west. I did recall seeing a great number of birds including Pelicans and
Brolgas.
Well 52 on the CSR was under
water at that time.
