Is there any way to reduce the dash rattle in a 2002 Prado? Admittedly its only on corrugations that it happens, still would be nice to it.

Is that a 90/95 series prado, or a 120 series.
I've got a 95 series, and have bolted in two tri-angular brackets (one pass side, one driver side) that connect the dash to the metal frame.
Has stopped most of the movement when driving over bad corrugations like the Old gan line from Finke to Alice, etc.

Sorry, I didn't take any pics. It's a bit hard to jam the camera up under the dash and focus .

Have also heard for the 95 series to put a product down between dash and windscreen called sticker flex (spelling). From what I can gather its the same stuff they use to hold windscreens in. Only problem can only be done with windscreen out. Apparantly the dash is only held to the metal frame of the firewall by plastic type hooks which fail (and have) allowing the dash to actually fall away from firewall. This only normally happens on severe corrugated roads (which there are plenty of). Some people have even comented on there dash been an inch further away from screen after one of these types of trips. Will be doing
mine just after xmas when I have new screen fitted due to huge crack in drivers side. Will probably fail inspection as its directly inline with my vision. I have only heard about this for the 95 series not the 120 but being an 02 model you havent stated which one you have. Regards Steve M

I found the worst part was the section of dash facia around the stereo.
I jammed a 5 mm spacer between that facia where it meets with the ashtray is and it hasn't rattled since. That was 3 years ago.
The other one is the centre consol which is held in place where the drink holders are by one screw. I ended up fashioning another point to screw it onto on the bracket for a second screw point and its also been good as
well.
