Would be interested to get a 2007 season update on
cape york.
We last did it in 2000 just before the bridge over the wenlock went in. We are looking to return next year
Road conditions, general observations, river crossings etc

All river crossings simple except for Nolans Brook (Bridge
Creek),, sand can be very soft.. Use caution at that crossing...
Roads are all in good nick...
Maybe a few corro's between Fruit Bat and Elliot Falls.

Oh,, and The Pascoe has a relatively easy path across with steep entry and exit.
One exit/entry is very rocky and the other is muddy/slippery.

The road to
Cape Melville is good. Nothing too tricky - just use the diversion tracks around the soft stuff. Also some fellow travellers got pinged by the DPI&F for not having all the required safety gear in their tinnie. $150, oh
well I couldn't see the point of fining someone for that sort of thing up there.
Take the fishing gear as we left the fish biting.
