can someone help? can i install a gel battery [75amd hour] online the electrics system after the power converter[240-12v]? the model is a standard jayco item [centruriun cs 2000] as i've been told these are only like a large battery charger[i dont know if its regulated]
also is it possible to run the anderson plug line to the battery once it is installed with the converter connected and charge battery whilst driving will this back charge if its possible? silly question?
also when i run the camper on-site through 240vlt and the power converts to 12 volt can i leave the battery 'online' thus drawing power through the battery and replacing the power through the converter which is hooked up on-site to 240volt without effecting the battery as i want to later install a solar system
does anyone know of a site where campers can share their modifications too as jayco dont do much except give basix and then the rest is up to you ...ive done heaps of stuff now'' thats a camper''

Hi Muddyboy,i have a jayco destiny that i have installed 2 flooded cell batteries, solar panel and regulator plus change over switches for 4WD or onboard dc to fridge and van,i utilise the setec power supply(fac fitted)to charge the batteries while on mains 240v and it all works nicely,as for using a gel cell in the hawk i dont see a problem as the charger is regulated and doesnt put out high current, the battery can be connected directly to the power supply and when connected to mains it disconnects the 12v,charges the battery and runs the lights etc off the p/supply and same in reverse, auto c/over to
battery power.hope this helps cheers Paul
