Off to
Goulburn River NP for the weekend as support crew for my son in the NSW Rogaining. As he & his team will be out most of the day, I will have a bit of time to look around.
Anyone got any idea of what there is to do / see in this part of the world /
thanks
Vince

Vince,
Other than soaking in any
water that may be in the River and a bit of local bushwalking there is not a real lot at
Goulburn River National Park. However there are a many aboriginal sites and a few rock paintings to be found if you keep your eyes open..
Take a couple of paperbacks, sit back and relax cause your gunna be flat out when your team comes in between stages which usually happens to be at some unearthly hour during the night.
I've been done team support for my son and his teams competing in Geoquest four times now and I reckon they just get more demanding each year.
Despite there not being a lot there Christine and I have had some pleasant and relaxing weekends at
Goulburn N.P. We drive past the first
camping area, Spring Gully and
camp at Big River. The boiling Billy
Camping Guide To New South Wales indicate that canoeing and swimming are activities available at both locations.
Word of advice: Fit your canoe with caterpillar treads and wear rock-climbing shoes and chamois gloves if you go swimming. Take absolutely every thing you may need, your way to far from the shops. Be prepared to boil
water or take adequate supplies.
