Anticipated shortage of diesel fuel and increase in price

Noticed an article in morning paper that owing to extremely cold winter in northern hemisphere there is a greater that expected demand for heating oil. The article went on to claim that this would result in reduced production of distillate in order to meet demand for heating oil. Here we go again, winter in the northern hemisphere and the southern h. has to pay a premium. Bet it doesn't work the other way around.

Yes - Capitalism has its disadvantages!!!

At least 99% of us here still have a reasonably high standard of living, and its pretty safe on this side too. :))

Am I glad that dont use LPG for their heating up there.. I just have to hope not to many Ausies have BBQ's this year.

Can anyone one tell me why diesel is now 20c/ltr dearer than unleaded when 10 years ago it was always 5c cheaper???

Higher demand globally. The awakening economies of China and India have placed huge demands on diesel. More vehicles are using diesel these days also.
