I was just about to start trawling over Yellow pages for a repairer, but decided I might get better info from the
forum. I need someone who understands that just because its a 4WD, I don't find half assed work acceptable. This has been my experience in the past. There's nothing like local knowledge....so if you can reccomend someone in
Perth, please do.
Some oxygen thief rammed a screwdriver into the troopys lock yesterday. Went through the interior (couldn't manage to work out how to open the big rear door to get into draws).
As a result the lock is shagged, the metal around it is bent, the big back door has a dent in it when they tried to open it and rammed it into the wheel carrier.
Good news is they took nothing....not the gps, not one of the 4 radios (2 of which were handhelds), the engel and about another $10k of junk in draws and cab. Bad news is I have to stuff around getting it fixed, pay $400 excess (or pay myself if it's not much more than that).
They were obviously just after cash. There was a WRX parked next to me untouched but a red 60 series across from me had been done over too.....
After nearly 7 years on the road,
parking in the middle of nowhere, I get this just as we are setting up house in
Perth....
We were only away form the car for less than 2 hrs and due to the rain in the car, we can be sure it happened in the first 15 minutes or so of leaving the vehicle. Was in the new Point Fraser
carpark on Riverside Dr if anyones interested.
I'd been thinking about selling the thing anyway and this has just about sealed it. We are away more than at home with work so I don't want to have to worry about the vehicle constantly. Maybe a Moped and taxis from now on :-)))
Cheers
Matt

Hi Matt,
I can recomend Peter at Doogs Panel and Paint on Crompton Ave in Rockingham. 95273939. Not exactly in
Perth but he fitted and painted the flares to my 80 and has fixed my fiance's car a couple of times(female drivers, but we wont go there!). He has done a really good job every time and when he did my 80 he ended up being cheaper than his quote. By a fair bit too.
Hope this helps
Matt

my old mate bob leaves the car unlocked and a couple of dollars in the ashtray but he was a bit bleep off when last time they visited, they took the ashtray with them.
