Hey all, Some of you are probably aware of my past adventure. Also my dissapointment regarding 2 cracked Bullbars.
First day back on the job and due to safety reason's had a little time on my hands so had a quick look under the tray.
Surprise, surprise 2 new cracks have appeared on the brackets that are welded to the chassis to hold the tray.
Will have to go over it a bit better this weekend and sniff out all the other cracks. Am not very Impressed although I am sure u guys may crack up over it.
Peter

Followed a new looking fwd ute today along the highway out of Armidale (nsw).
Blowing clouds of black smoke I thought it had to be very overloaded. My first guess was a Rodeo, they all look very similar from the back, but on catching up it was a Navara (xt? small badge on the right hand side).
Was empty, struggling to top 100kph, the black smoke not letting up.
Are they also a dud after a short but hectic life?

Extfilm, have you got the mounting extension arms that go from the four mounting bolts back to the shipping tiedown points? That solved the problem with my 2004 STR after I disintegrated two alloy bars last year.
Cheers Mick.

For a while you had a photo of an airborne Navara. Is that yours?
If it is, then no wonder there are cracks appearing.....lol
Cheers

Hey Peter!, After reading other posts of yours , i thought you would have got rid of that nissan nightmare, as you threatened to do?. I'm associated with the same industry as you and travelled around a job site on the central coast nsw every day last year, (magenta Shores) and there was one ute that stood out ftom everything else as far as been useless at carrying weight in sand Yep! a nissan Navara ,pulled the bloody thing around the site with the excavator on a lot of occasions. only ever criticise when i experience the facts.
Cheers Axle.

Sorry to hear about your run of bad luck but with all cars you sometimes get a friday one.(put together in a hurry before knockoff).
Mine has been faultless since new and has just clocked over 150,000km.I have a steel t15 winch bar with 10000lb winch fitted and after reading your posts regarding cracking have checked out my chassis all good touch wood. Not sure what tyrers you run but with the 265/75/16 on
mine I have no problem in sand as you have mentioned. I usually do 2-3 trips to Fraser or Moreton a year and run tyre pressure at 15psi. Have done the cape and several hard outback trips all with the ute loaded to the hilt and towing camper trailer. Have also done some pretty nasty day trips with some other members on here and all went fine. A few were quite surprised where it actually went with ease. Most cars are good until they give you troubles but you may just have been unlucky enough to get a dude..... But I dont drive
mine like I stole it either :)
Regards
Ross

Hi
Ross
We have a 2006 STR dual cab, we tow a 21 ft off road caravan
very easy, even had it up Teewah Beach recently, it has factory tyres
factory bullbar, and amazingly we havent had any trouble with it.
MAY BE WE DONT THRASH IT ENOUGH.
Cheers
