just wondering, is there a place in vanning/
camping for --this is my
camp i was here first? generally i pull of the road and go bush if i can, so not to be seen by others
but sometimes you end up with others at
bush camps when you arrive.
i have come across this a few times. things like - i was here first and if i want to have the gennie on all night i will.
if my kids want to ride their bikes around your van they can, i was here first
i like having my music up loud, i was here first.
has anyone come across this?

No, it's usually the ones who come later that make all the noise - no thought of who was there first, however even they eventually all go to sleep and peace reigns.

Unless you're on top of the mountain at
Bathurst.....
Don't count on getting any sleep up there ;-(

Hi Shane.
I certainly have experienced a similiar situation. We have a great
camping spot on the Mann river(northern NSW) & the main problem is not the kids on push bikes, it is the kids on noisy trail bikes.
Vince.

I thought Australia was BIG ,like heaps of room in the wide open spaces of the Australian Outback , but some people might feel a bit more security with others nearby , the isolation and quietness might be a bit daunting to city folk, maybe they should go
camping next to
Melbourne's Ring Road, or the Hume freeway,

Hi Shane, if your definition of a "bush camp" is the same as
mine, then I might put a different slant on my reply from some of the other posters.
But firstly my definition: A "bush camp" to me is where you get off the main road a couple of K's (preferably a dirt one) and find/ follow a track or a fence line until you get to some sort of
clearing where you can make
camp. (I do this on a regular basis whether it's with our CT or just me with a swag)
Now if I was in such a situation and someone came along and decided to
camp alongside (or in the near vicinity), I would be less than impressed. I realize that someone may have used this
camp before on another journey, but I think I would be inclined to say ..... "It's my bloody
camp, I was here first".
If I wanted company I'd have made
camp at a
rest stop or a CP.
Now if your definition is a roadside
rest stop, then I think that it doesn't matter who was there first and good manners should take precedent.
Just my opinion.
Geoff
