Hi.
I'm looking into buying a Unimog in Australia. Was wondering if any knows whether the army sells surplus of Unimog?
Any information regarding dealers or suppliers/sales(options into purchasing) of these vehicles would be greatly appreciated.

Loom forward to any response

Regards

Dave

Hi Dave
From time to time they may pop up in deals on wheels, but are rare.

I know why you are after a unimog now I had a bit of a look, look also for a m/benz 911 4WD, a bit bigger than a unimog, same sort of driveline (planetry gears anyway) but more likely to find

Shane ,
I saw a brilliant looking Merc 4WD truck today with a big "house" built on the back . Roof racks and all . It looked to have been built by a real professional .
It had a big sign on the back saying it was from one of the German cities .

The Australian Army Unimogs (and Landrovers) are due to be replaced in the next few years and they are finalising tenders now as part of Project Overlander. The guy at Tractiveforce is importing a batch from Switzerland.
I don't think they are as big as the 8 ton Mogs the Army runs, probably only around 4 ton.
