Can anyone tell me the purpose of the green light at the lower LH side of the windscreen as I have heard two different reasons.

to show they have not done there con. pit stop, at least in the race to day

Bathurst it also indicated which driver.

Yes in endro races they have to do pit stops no matter what.. so it shows the race fan who is driving, but in sprint races it to show if they have done the pit stop, also they use a blue light when they have to do a con. brake pad change..

Just to add a bit more - my understanding from the race commentary is that it shows that it is the #2 driver who is driving
