Hi
We're looking at doing the
CREB track soon and are interested to know if there is much variation in the
Daintree river due to tidal changes?
Leaving
Daintree the initial part of the
CREB track goes through the
Daintree River, so it has to be gone through. I was wondering if anyone knows if the
water level does change and by how much?
Is there a website which shows tidal level for dates entered - ie mid November?
Cheers, Will.

Hi Will,
Where the CREB crosses the
Daintree River is usually quite shallow during the dry. However it is possible to get heavy rain in the hills in November which can greatly affect the river level. The safest plan is to make your decision when you get here. You can always go up the
Bloomfield track if there are problems with the CREB. They close the CREB quickly if there has been any sort of heavy rain.
Cheers
Kevin

Hey Will, the crossing is in the upper
Daintree and is not influenced by tidal fluctuations. However, as stated above it can rise quickly following rainfall in the hills upstream. At this time of year it will most likely be low and easy to cross.
