Went up to Big River on the weekend and was really annoyed to see an idiot go down through Vennells Camp ground into the river with his 4x4 and then promptly get stuck and spend the next 1/2 hour or so revving the #$%^ out of it in order to get out.

There are signs all over the camp ground saying no camping within 20 metres of river. Mind you this cretin and his feral mates decide to setup camp, blatantly ignoring the signs, go into the bush and chop down trees with thier chainsaw and then turn up the radio.

Glad we were on our way further up as we only stopped for a cuppa.

We were up there about 2 years ago having a look around for a potential camp site as a quick weekend getaway. While we were there the place was deserted but the amount of empty cans lying around every site and the odd burnt out car warned us off going back again - especially on a long weekend, school holidays or after rain when the mud would have been 'primo'. We are also finding the same with Toolangi.

Howdy doody,
Theres now a couple of burnt out cars there. Unfortunately it's a case of if a commodore can get there then don't go there. Not to say all people with commodore's are like that but this was the case.

I agree with you about Toolangi as well. I remember going there years ago and nowadays it's really a day trip place, unless you go midweek.
