Guess all the knockers of Cooper know that they own Mickey Thompson.
Took a mate 1 f!!!in hour to rip one of his claws to bits.
Must have been Coopers fault.
They all break, just depends how hard you push them.

Coincidental you should bring that up Rock ape. On our Oct trip to the Flinders a Micky Thompson was shredded & a member of our club had to pull out of his Canning trip after destroying 2 of his in the first 80 km of the stock route. Neither pushing them very hard. You are right though they all break, it's just the last time I saw a tyre torn to bits like that was a Firestone off an Explorer. (& we know how bad they were)
Some tyres just seem to have more bad luck than others ;-)
Cheers Craig...........

What amused me the other day at our local trye dude, was that he had a cooper AT on display that had severe chipping after a recent trip, and when i asked what he really thought was the best AT tyre?, his reply was" definitley Mickey Thompson"....Lol. What ever their got in stock seems to be the go with these blokes!!.
Cheers Axle.

Truckster go to 4wd monthly
forum, his rig is under muddymad and you will see what he gets up to.
Same day, he burnt out his winch and ripped the fairlead out of his bar and damaged his body work and yes he is hard on gear and yes he is thinking of building a comp car.

Interesting comments. I am in the position of having had both Mickey T's ATZ and Cooper ATR on my GU. The MT's lasted a tick under 2000k's before the dealer took them off and replaced them with Coopers at no cost to me.
In that time, I had been on one flat dirt track (very smooth for 25 k's and no rocks of any consequence) and had been utterly religious about tyre pressures. The MT's chipped so badly that absolute whopping blocks of rubber had fallen off on all 4 tyres. Muttered comment from the dealer was that the tyres had been either on the shelf too long or left in the sun somewhere too long afore they went onto the GU. Me - I think they were simply built on either a Friday or a Monday!
Since then, the Coopers have done over 10,000k's (7,000 of that on a western QLD look see) with some very slight chipping. I have to say though that I am a little less than certain of them on the very odd occasion that it rains, when things certainly get interesting under brakes! That of course may be due to Toyota's leaving an oil haze on the roads, although I may need to be corrected here.
I don't know that this makes the Coopers the better tyre, but in terms of the things suffering from inordinately large chunks falling off them, it is certainly reassuring to step into the twuk and knowing they are intact!
If we all agreed on one brand of tyre, life would be far less interesting methinks.
Regards.............Len

Len,
I love the bit about the oil haze being left by Toyota's, even though I own one. Damn the truth hurts
Have a good one
