Say fer instance there is an ignition problem on a vehicle and most of the ignition system has to be removed.

Is there an easy way to set up a switching system instead of a key system?

Cheers

yes but , very easy , 2 switches and a relay would do it , BUT , if the local boys in blue see it , you will be charged . Same charge as leaving your keys in the ignition. And no insurance either

Yerr, not really worried about the boys in blue and have no insurance anyway.

Please email the details of what goes where to me when you get a chance. Thanks.

Jumper lead direct from battery to starter, then grasp long handle screw driver, you know the rest!......lol.

But don't stall it at the lights, because thats when its a real pain in the rear!. ;)))))).

Cheers Axle.

why dont you pull apart the lock and seperate the rear switch part to the lock , then you can start with a flat blade screw driver from the comfort of your car . Or have you had a wiring meltdown?????

OK Young fella I will fess up.

Few weeks ago I had a key problem. Replaced keys.

Today I had an ignition problem....ignition tumbler probably rooted.

So mate and I removed the steering lock mechanism and ignition and can now start GQ with screwdriver.

I want to take wires from this unit to switches on the dash and then reinstall the dead ignition to the column so that it looks normal.

What I need is to get advice on is which wire goes where as I have Accessories, Glowplugs, Ignition.

Can you help???

Cheers

what i would do bud , is bust up the tumblers so they do nothing , then assemble it so it looks original and buy a blank toyota key that look like a flat blade to start the car, if this dosnt suit , i will get a wiring diagram to yo u

No I am not replacing the steering lock because it is a PITA especially out bush. Didn't even contact Nissan. I want to make the truck simple to start with the aid of two or more switches.
No one is going to steal a 13yo diesel Nissan....LOL
Actually I probably know what to do just need some confirmation on which connections go where.
