Hi all,
I am looking to purchase tyres for my 2006 Patrol. I have purchased a set of 16 inch GU rims to put on my Patrol when I go bush. I am looking at 285 x 75 R16 Silverstone MT117 SP Mud Terrain tyres. Has anyone had experience with these and how have you found them? Thanks

G'day Iceman,
Yeah! I have a set, I bought them(with a set of
wheels as
well) a year ago but I only put them on when I'm heading bush way. Great grip in mud, rocks(read slippery) and especially clay.
They do wear on road being a softer compound but that's why I have my road/general set of Bridgestone Dualer AT's. I got them for a great price at the time which made them an attractive proposition. They are a bit noisy on the road(but what decent bush tyre is,nt) and just watch it if it has just started to rain! when it's greasy.

ps I have 31x10.50.15

Your choice , your money. But do you really think you need a set of competition type tyres for a holiday , 1- too aggresive , 2- too noisy , 3- won't give the Ks.
Have a look at at Bridgestone or BFG ATs ,
But if you must buy Silverstone Why not the AT117 ,A balanced construction design makes this tyre a joy to use both on and off-road. On-road, it delivers a reasonably comfortable ride, while being able to easily surmount most off-road terrain.

are these weekend only tires?
if so go the silverstone extemes.. awesome. almost same tread pattern as the simex's
I reckon if your going with second set of rims, you may as
well go all out.. Simex's, Claws, Swampers etc.. waste of time going with just muddys
