Guess that's why so many of our intersections controlled by traffic lights are having Red Light/Speed Cameras installed. Just too many drivers choosing to ignore that little read one. O'h well I guess authorities will eventually get them off our roads. It's a change to see the motorcyclist was most likely in 'the right' on this occasion. A lot of people will agree, that's rare indeed.

Whoops... forgot to ask too..
What makes you think that intersection didnt have a red light camera?
And do you think the bloke on the bike would feel better if there was?

Hi DIO, while I havnt owned a bike for a few years now I find your comment a bit offensive. When I did have a bike I didnt run red lights nor did I use to ride up between motor vehicles while waiting at lights. I sat in line waiting my turn along with the motor cars, trucks etc. How ever I did get rid of my bike due to the roads becoming more dangerous with a lot more traffic and other vehicles on the road who either have sore necks or are just plain arrogant towards other road users including bikes and like to just whack a blinker on and change lanes presuming no one was there instead of looking over there shoulder. My old man always said to me who also rode bikes was to never sit directly beside another vehicle otherwise I wouldnt last a week on the bike how right he was, hence took his advice, had I not I would of been swiped many a time. This is also classed as defensive driving/riding.I am aiming this comment at you as you obviously have a problem with bikes on our roads. Yes there are alot of di@kheads on bikes but there is alot driving around on 4 wheels as well. Regards Steve M

Up yours DIO - I was also a motorcyclist, and its ignorant morons like you that eventually caused me to no longer ride.

What's your score? Have you got many riders?

Im with Stephen m and Gerhardp1 here....its the mongrels that say "we all know all biker riders are law breakers" ( even if that comment was a bit of a LOL moment) who dont look out for them on the road and will blame anyone else but themselves for an accident with them....

2 very close and dear school friends were killed on bikes - neither of them speeding, going through red lights or even over the limit...I guess its idiots that think they are better and bigger than bikes that cause the damage.

Why this bring back memories that not needed to be thought of again ! ! ! ! ! ! ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

either way it was a bit funny - had to watch it 5 times to see if it was for real or not....

I also find offense in this reply .... I have been a bike rider since i was 15 yrs old - I currently have a CRF450 ( trail bike ) and a Honda 900 fireblade roadbike - i for one don't run red lights nor do any of the people i ride with ( and i ride with about 40 bikes on ride days / nights) Most of us approach lights expecting cage drivers to be running red lights. yes we bend the rules a little, one of the hottest items of contention is lane splitting ( or filtering depending where your from ) This is where we run up the inside at a red light to get to the front of the line. I myself do this for the following reasons. 1) when in peak hour traffic every idiot has(horse) blinkers on and chop and changes lanes without looking for a car , so what chance does a bike have to be seen if they cant see 1000kg cage next to them ? 2) by lane splitting to the front , i do not contribute to the traffic jam and take up one car space. and because my Bike accelerates much harder than a 4x4 and most if not more than any car, i m away from the madness before i even hit second gear giving me a much better chance of survival to the next red light.

Why do i ride a bike then if its so dangerous >? why do you 4x4 ? this is potentially dangerous also. Its fun - and for me its cheap as it costs me about $15 in fuel each week as apposed to $60 if i take the nissan -- in peak hour traffic i can be at work in 20 min with my bike - by car 45 min

you may see us a ratbags - but just remember that some bike riders are that way because they have almost been cleaned up by soccer mums and 4 foot asian ladies driving Lancrushers that can not even see over the steering wheel - its out of necessity that our riding style looks offensive rather than defensive

P.s most bike riders hold multiple licenses i have the following

Just something you may not know DIO;

Some years ago the NRMA/RACV did a study and used Peter Brock as the spokesman.

The study showed that motorcyclist were the most law abiding of all road users.

Like anything, it's always a few bad apples that make people generalise any group.

That's what I thought, He must be hurting something bad the way he's flapping around.
Must be a a bit of shock for the buzz box driver, but then again a few vehicles going the other way just kepp on going as well.

I actually think the whole thing is a stunt, to create a movie for whatever reason. Perhaps it was for a movie audition?

I think it's a stunt because -

The camera is beautifully positioned to catch the action. Who films randomly hoping on the off chance to catch a bike and car colliding?
No-one rushes to anyone's aid, the other traffic is minimal in a busy city, the guy on the ground is either hurt or not hurt - if he is, he wouldn't flail his arms about, if he wasn't he'd be sitting up.

the car driver is flapping around being all dramatic, but doing nothing to call 000 or whatever they do where they are.

Could be wrong, though.

If it is a genuine collision, the bike rider is a total fool in my opinion, because he sails into the intersection way too fast. He should ALWAYS anticipate what happened, and be a good enough to avoid it.

If it's the one i'm thinking of (no access at work) it was a police chase in Spain and the police drove out in front of the bike to stop him from getting away after robbing a bank.

They don't muck around in Spain!!!

No , its not that clip , i have seen that one and its just plain nasty -- but works well - any future bank robber that has seen that clip will be asking for a tank rather than a motorcycle as there getaway vehicle :)

His reply was a bit harsh,Idiots are in everything (cars, bikes, boats, pub's etc) I tried to be a motorcyclist but 14 years ago, while just about off my P's then i was making a right hand turn (stationary) on a 30 degree day when one of the IDIOTS happening to be driving a car ran up my ass at 100 km's hour in a 60 zone..Well only an idiot would admit that to a copper anyhow.

That bloody video shore does bring back memories..

So two major back operation's at 26 requiring plates and shoulder, neck etc i would think that poor bastard will be hurting big time..Its funny you know someone mentioned he was thrashing around a bit,i dont know what it is but you still got to try and get on your bloody feet, like conquering mount everist at the time i suppose lol..

Cheers Guys...
