I'm thinking a ute and slide-on camper would suit my needs.
Previously I had thought about a campervan. Any suggestions as to web sites where I should start looking as I don't know much about slide-ons.
My main requirement would be ease of attachment and detachment of slide-on.
Thanks
Gerri

Thanks John
I've had a look at it. Good start.
I've never had a ute. Not sure if you need a big one like a Rodeo for a camper. I currently drive a Subaru Forester.

Gerri,
Check out
Candy Canvas
They do a good slide on camper that appears to be very easy to attach and detach.
Cheers Kev

Have travelled with a
Trayon Camper on many occations & would be hard to beat for a quick set up. A very sturdy, low roof
well featured unit with nice canvas work.
As with all slip ons it is a bit of a task to attach and raise the legs, disconnect wiring and secure but no way around it with this type of camper.
Cheers Craig........

Thanks guys
re the Trayon and the Outback one - I will be travelling alone. How do you think I'd go opening it up and putting it back together?

The Trayon has gas struts which help open it. It is a one man job. The only problem is you have extra bedding. That does make opening and closing a bit heaver

We've got a Supreme Sunray slide on Camper mounted on a Nissan Patrol 4.2 litre Turbo-Diesel tray back ute. They don't come much better than these if comfort is what you are looking for. My Bride would not go bush anymore without creature comforts and she's never complained with this one. Just done the complete round Oz trip including some very rough bush tracks and last year did the outback tracks from Kalgoorlie to
Birdsville & back and nothing fell off or broke. We've had our rig for 2 years and are contemplating selling it as we've just about done the best outback areas now. I don't know how to add a picture (too old and dumb) so if you would like to see some pics, my email address is syms@westnet.com.au
Cheers

Gerri,
A mate has just returned from the 4wd Show in Melb - is very interested in the Travelander slip-on/slide-on.
www.travelander.com.au
Very smick - press the button to fold out/fold up!
Very
well appointed. Two models - single cab and a dualcab model.

Gerri, I am saving the dollars for a Piggy Back camper. After all the research I,ve done, it's the only one I've found that is accessable from the outside while closed. Put Piggy Back Camper into Google and have a look. Cheers Scott.
