navara snorkel noise

The snorkel noise is quite normal no matter which brand you have. Having said that any unusualy loud noise can usually be attributed to either the snorkel rail along the guard has been installed without the rubber washers or the tubing through the guard is in contacting the body, this causes it to resonate the induction resulting in an amplified loud hum kind of like extractors or a loud exhaust. Check that it has been mounted onto the guard with the rubber washers and there is no contact with the body as it passes through the guard and I hope this helps.

We had an increase in induction roar, in snorkel, on an 80 series tojo. Also a decrease in power. Turned out to be a wasp's mud nest, the size of a banana, that was restricting the air flow. Managed to remove it easily, problem solved.

Have just picked up a new 79 series ute, the snorkel noise is much different to earlier model. They have an EGR fitted, don't know if this makes any difference. Hooroo...

what sort of head are you running, pre cleaners tend to make more noise than a ram head, 4 cyld vehicles tend to make more noise than a 6 cyld as well. Col

Thanks for your respond I’ll check the rubber washers and the tubing then I will talk to the dealer the car is just four days old and already problems :(
