We have a 4 month old Rottweiler and would like to show him the beach and do some camping.I tried to find a website which shows where you can camp with dogs but no such luck. Does anybody know a beach you can take a dog? he is not really a dog but anyway. It looks like there is a real problem with dogs everywhere.
My daughter just came back from Europe and they have dogs sleeping under the tables in Restaurants. Are we a bit paranoid over here??

Hi Riener G

Most beach camping areas, such as Teewah, Rainbow Beach, Fraser,
ect, are National Parks, and its a no no.

Try South Ballina Caravan Park, its got an entance right on to the
beach, and the owners dont mind small dogs that are controlled ,
so while yours is still a pup you should be ok.

Also its a good 4wd beach, and you dont need a permit.

Cheers

Thanks Daza, it looks like we have a week off next week so we have to go somewhere :-)
Why don't we have a dog-beach somewhere and people who dont like dogs go to the other beaches???

Reiner G,]
I feel shame that I was so flippant on my initial post. (Just a family thing, I guess).
Mate, if you have a 4mnth old Rotty that is being groomed as part of the family (did I miss something?), then get shed of it!!
Quick! Before it grows up.

Reiner, my rig pic shows a year old "Cooktown Special" that we found in the rocks at Archers Pt.
Fantastic pony/mate: streams of saliva (both jowls...enough to carpet a lounge.......
Your desired beach area seemed unspecified.Bundaberg is good, but I suspect a drive around with the Baby Rotty..........................
Mate, bite the bullet at 4 mths: Wonderfull breed, prone to fat, faithfull to the end: but possibly inappropriate.
So what would I know?
Chuck me an MM.
Jeff.

Reiner G.....did your daughter also tell you about the mountains of dog chit in the streets ..... forever dodging barker's nests when walking around...especially in gay Paris.

not sure of place that accepts dogs but one of the best dog friendly beaches i have seen in vic/nsw/qld is stummers beach on the sunshine coast-just south of perrigan beach-about 3km south.

Reiner,

I prefer Flinders Beach on Stradbroke Island. You can camp with you dog and are right on the beach.

Inskip also allows dogs. You can take you dog to Teewah and Rainbow but they are only allowed on the beach and not above the high tide mark where the national park starts.

Some of the State Parks allow dogs too such as Amamoor up near Gympie.

Our dog loves camping but he is trained and stays close plus we clean up after him. Enjoy.
