Well they did come to the party. On the Saturday of the June long weekend we had a ST disintegrate just west of Nygan causing a bit over $4000 of damage to the Datto. The tyres had 68,000kms on them at the time so through my insurance company we put in a claim for damage to the vehicle and warranty claim on the tyres. They paid out on both, actually the warranty was extended to 6 tyres not just the one tyre. So in my case it is viva le Cooper.

Who paid for the car damage?
I assume Cooper paid for a new tyre??
What is the warranty on the 6 tyres??? Mileage warranty, or something else?

Like I said Cooper paid for the damage to the vehicle, paid out the pro-rata warranty on the six tyres not only the one tyre that is 68K of 80K and I still have 4 of the old tyres still on the vehicle that have used 71K.

hi Hanker
That is great news. Similar happenes to me a few years back.
I was wondering where all the Coopers knockers were now??
I guess they would say if you didnt have Coopers on in the first place you wouldnt have had the tyre disintegrate. If you can believe that.
Good to see them honour their warranty again and do more...
Cheers

Considering the vehicle damage was caused by the tyre it was probably the cheaper option as his insurance company was threatening to sue them to recover the cost of the vehicle damage anyway. So they saved the cost of the legal fight and the resultant exposure to the public of the products failures.
Yeah its a great warranty (Not) how good would the warranty be if the disintegration of the tyre caused a roll over perhaps killing poor Hanker or his family.
"No worries says Mr Cooper we will give you pro rata refund on the tyres, shall we post the cheque to heaven?"
The problem happens all to often with this brand, check the archives other have posted with similar failures.
