Hi Mike
I was up there 2 weeks ago and found it to be a fairly easy trip , it was my first time up that way and can recomend the station tracks from
Milparinka to the corner ( lots of smooth sandy dune tracks ).
Good luck Grant m

Hi Mike,
Travelled out there during first week in Oct. Track from
Milparinka, to
Tibooburra and on to the corner in good condition. Don't know where you are headed from there, but if you go further west and out to Strezlecki Track be careful on the dune crests. The clay topping on many of the dune approaches is gone on both east and west sides of them and now there are huge deep holes full of very soft sand. Heard some cowboys over the radio wanting to get their vehicles airborn over the dunes and they didn't sound too happy when we told them to be wary. Would have hated to have come across them in a nasty rollover situation or on top of a dune. Any how have fun and have a good trip.

Mike, we did all those
places and more in a Subaru outback 2 years ago and found the roads excellent. Yeah things change but those roads are mostly
well maintained nowadays & they have had no serious rain recently.
We went to the corner via Gum Vale & Hewert downs Waka
Fort Grey etc. no problems at all even in soft sand and mud between Gum Vale and Hewert Downs.
We came back via the Toona
gate rd and
Olive downs etc in soft sand OK.
Also out to
Milparinka, Mt Pool, Mt Sturt and Pools grave, Mt Wood and
the Loop rd etc. Get out there and do it, you will love it. Your LC will do it easy.
Just remember on the properties to get permission if you can and LAF the gates.
Have a great trip. Colin.
PS take fly nets and repellent.
