Hi, I'm keen to fit polyairs or a suchlike to my old GQ patrol. As I'm not familiar with the Australian parts/accessories market...are there any other alternatives to this brand..or do they have a "monopoly"
Cheers from Port Douglas

Search for a reference on 'Truckspring" in the forum - that mob in the US will ship them to your door for half the outlay here in Oz. Air Ride and Firestone are the brands they supply - quality products - forumites here have used them.

Make sure the Firestone Coilrites are dark blue & not the light blue ones.
They had problems with the sealing between the inlet brass ferrule & the bag itself. The new ones have been modified.

Do you recall the part number for the coil-rites. I have a 99, 105 series with a 2 inch lift. Id like to get them from the States, so the right part number would be handy.

I have had the Polyairs in my Cruiser since 2002 and not had a problem - the best thing I had fitted IMHO.

There are a couple of other brands out there but at the end of the day I think they are all priced around the same mark.

I ran Polyairs in my old Maverick (GQ) for 11 years, not a problem. Have been running them in my GU for the last 7 years likewise.

I have had Polyairs on the 100 series cruiser and pull a three ton van, work great and have had no trouble at all. Early days yet, just two years old, just set presure and forget, hope they stay that way.
Cheers, Nev.

Search around you'll find there is potential to do quite bit of damage to patrols with air bags or very stiff suspension. I destroyed the upper spring towers in my GQ. Had upgraded spring and polyairs. Don't think I had that much weight but no doubt over. Towers split on the trip up to the cape and was told it's very common. If you go ahead simply get the towers reinforced, it's pretty easy and won't cost that much.

Hi Joondalupjerry,

Try www.4wddirect.com.au (in Brisbane) he seems very obliging, not scared to advertise his prices online for you to compare and free posts anywhere in Australia I believe. I found him very good when I bought polyairs for my 4Runner recently.

Thanks for the collective wisdom. i'm not looking to stiffen or lift it to any major degree...just stop a bit of rear spring due to a 1500kg caravan.
The Riedrubber option is looking good.
Cheers
