Hi guys

Just had this new turbo timer fitted to my Nissan Patrol ST, replacing the previous one which was sitting above the steering column in front of gauges.

This unit is completely hidden and this is all you see

I reckon it looks pretty damn fine actually :-)) (but hey I AM a little biased :-))

Hard to say as I had it done when I was getting some other stuff done. They had the dash off to do the other stuff so I took opportunity to get this done at same time.

I am NOT practical so wouldnt attempt it on my own :-))))

The sub tank switch was always down below the CD/radio (see pic) so the new TT switch went into a blank spot

A very neat installation, however, be mindful that in some Council areas and States it may be an offence to leave a vehicle unattended with the engine running. Just in case you weren't aware.

I have had TT for a number of years so was aware

In fact my central locking is set up so that I cannot lock doors while TT is still on without it setting off the alarm

mind you this isnt the only thing that will set off my alarm - if Itry a selcall on channel 2 HF it sets it off even if it isnt on :-))))

So if you ever see a guy talking on his HF radio with the siren going off - yep - it will be me :-))))

If I had to leave the engine running every time I stopped I would get rid of the turbo.

I have 3.0 turbo hilux and I only let the motor run if its been working hard. Normaly I get the chance to back off a few minutes before destination and the turbo slows down enough.

It probably has oil feeding the turbo after shut down anyway but I never checked on that.

Hi KiwiAngler, on the dash behind the steering wheel in the pic there is a light on, to me it looks like the subtank light, am I right? If I am, and assuming that you are not emptying the sub tank whilst you are taking that pic why is it on? or is it because you have an after market pump on therefore the switch on your patrol is in a different place to where ours is/was. Just wondering

Cheers

Whenever I disconnect te battery ( as was done to do some recent electrical work) when I reconnect the battery the sub tank light is permanently lit.

To 'fix' it I have to re disconnect the battery, leave it for about 20 minutes and then reconnect. Allows time for the puter to reset itself I guess.

I havent got around to doing it yet :-))

Aaah that would explain it, thanks for that I thought that you may have had an after market pump fitted.

Cheers
