I posted this a couple of days ago but the link was killed of by a unknown source.

So I don't think anyone will have any warranty issues with where they take the new 200 series, going by this

This one doesn't need a snorkel to travel under water.......

There was a Sahara at the 4x4 show, but could only look at the outside.

Impression? - Very large.

Don't think that's an issue.

There's a button to tick to suppress the ads anyway.

As you dont understand the add Rick you most likely aren't the type of person Toyota are aiming it at. Looks like the add may have been a trial by a research company to gauge the impressions of people prior to release. Will be interesting to see if it makes the TV.

"As you dont understand the add Rick you most likely aren't the type of person Toyota are aiming it at."

Who would that ad be aimed at (if it will even become the real ad)? This 4wd will be very expensive (in my opinion). Most of them will stay in the relatively wealthy suburbs of the capital cities. That's my guess. And the Turbo diesel version will still be very expensive when it's 10 years old. And then the second/third owner might need to replace the injectors. All 8 of them. How much will that cost? It's definitely not an average person's car.

Anyway, my guess is that the ad is aimed at the wealthy who want to know they own the 'best' (in their and Toyota's opinion) 4wd in the world just incase they ever need to use it.

I'm not trying to bash the car - I'm sure it will be absolutely awesome. But I'm also realistic about these things.

Crackles, lighten up mate,,,i aint bagging the 4by,i'm baggin the bleedin ad.
They way they portray 4wd's nowadays, well, they are not invincible or capable of doing the stuff seen in advert's at all.
Show me a 4by,,,,any one,,,,,,,that can supposedly drive through a river completely submerged, or "bulldoze " it's way through the ground like this add portrays. For that matter, the Nissan ad is in the same catagory as fare as i am concerned,,,,a bloody joke that portrays capabilties that simply do not exist.
By the by mate,,,,,,been into the local Yota dealer and had a real good convo with them about the new series 200,,,,,,,,,,,real nice car,,,lots a money,,,,,especially for the Sahara with all the fruit. Thought about getting one,,,,but i dont like the thought of that many electronics.
So this advert, whether a teaser or not,,,is aimed at my buying group.

meow.

Pete I reckon you're pretty right regaurding sales for the new 200. No doubt the price will doom many to the family inner city car pool but suggest the V8 will no doubt make an ideal tow vehicle particually for the cashed up Baby Boomers with a camper, boat, horse float or van. Toyota have shown their intension to clearly separate the 200 series at the prestigious end (no base version) while the 76 series wagon (for what it's worth) being the practical offroader of the range.

And sorry Rick if I appeared to come over heavy, it's just by your comments I doubted you'd be ever be in the market for a Toymotor ;-)
