Depends on the brand, the dealer's size and buying group (eg. Tyrepower is pretty big nationally, so they get big buying discounts), and other things like whether they have them in stock, how busy they are, etc.
Not rocket science, but there is not a simple answer.
At list price they will be making 20-40% margin...
At selling price, including labour, they could be down to 5-20% margin except for the few sales at list price ;-)

I hope you bought them from the first place to quote the low price.
I
shop around as
well, but always support the first place to offer the low price. Someone who just matches clearly isn't the preferred seller.

when i was in tyres it was around $20 profit on a car tyre after gst disposal balance and new valves were added in and 4wd tyres was around $50 each.
when we bought tyres in the other costs were added then profit.
eg tyre costs $50 valve 20cents disposal $1 balance $1 plus $22.
tyre for sale for $74.20
well $74
cheers

I looked around and the best price I got was $202.00ea for 275x70x16 fitted and balanced.
these are the GT Adventuro tyres, that have a 2yr full replacement no fault cover and have a 5yr 60,000klm warranty on them.
Hope this helps.
Just have to take it back every 10,000klm for a free rotation and check.
