Buy an RF power/SWR meter and a dummy load from a radio
shop ....
or ask ur local one *nicely* if they will test it for you
be aware - 25w is ILLEGAL on UHF CB

If your in Melb I could check it for you.
If your in the scrub , grab a tail light bulb and make a connection from the filament to the aerial connector via two short wires (<50mm) and when you transmit it should light up.
P.S. Some people can make this connection with a screwdriver but its a dumb idea unless you get it just right as you could get a
small burn from the RF energy at 25w.
