My point being is if you have the money buy a KNOWN brand, cause it will last longer and be a better quality!!!

I like quality and the fact being more R&D goes into the known brands then the unknown! R&D costs!!!

Don't the "clones" blatantly copy the known brands, in which case they are taking advantage of (stealing) the R & D done by those manufacturers.

So according to your theory anything not of a "known " brand is not worth the $$ ,, funny that not to long ago your favoured "known " brands were classed as "rubbish " Jap crap , made in Taiwan ect ect , have a long hard look at your household possessions , 90% will be copies of other companies R&D.

HI ya Axel, so you are saying Yamaha, compaq, hp, haier, electrolux, sunbeam, logitech, acer, akai, samsung, olympus, toyota corolla, Ford Laser/Mazda nokia,bosch,sony, western digital, geil, nvidia, dell are all someones elses research???? Mmmm must look into it, i know dell and some hp/ compaq's run asus m/b, logitech are there own! Shall i go on????

The only crap i have is a dse branded mini set top box, a rowa & palsonic tv, bleep ty vacuum (will one day get the dyson i want), daewoo lanos (re badge astra, don't think about arguing about the daewoo)plus an ozito die grinder, cordless drill and buff a crappy drill and angle grinder that i bought from bunnings

So you can throw your 90% out the window of crap and I can say that i have 75%- 90 good stuff with 25-10% crap!!!

The clones only copy the most important parts, and skimp on quality parts!
I.E; i have heard from a reliable source that i trust, that a mate who developes souped up motor vehicles will only use the sensors and crankshaft sensors off the original car because they are more reliable and don't breakdown as easy as the aftermarket stuff!!!!!

You can copy but if you don't copy perfectly then why bother copying at all????

Each to his own . the point is that almost ALL the brands you mentioned were at one stage Unknown "crap " brands , yamaha ,honda ,mazda , hp , samsung ,toyota nissan ,ect ect ect ect , were all UNknown Jap crap and now are classed as the ducks guts , give the newer players a chance and they to will one day be the best ,
