Caning children in schools and parents smacking children if they misbehave is the solution to reduce crime rates do you think Ray?
And the relevance of this post to exploring Oz is.....?

Oh goodie another controversial thread.
How does it go again
"when they took the Cane from the teachers and the boot from the coppers, the behaviour of kids worsened"
or something like that.
Cheers Kev

Hi ya all, I'll tell you a little story, back when i was bigger then knee-high to a grasshopper, the humanist's around 1984-5 area, i was in school and the teachers said they couldn't hit me or give me them cane! they also said that my parents couldn't discipline me either???
Well me being the all-knowing little man said that to my mother and she beat the living daylights out of me! Now this mother of
mine thought i was the child possed, did this and did that,
well i didn't but i was still called a liar and a thief!
Well i can tell you now I'm not either one of those and i tribute that to getting spanked when i needed it! But by the same token not to beat the living daylights out of my children when and if i have them!!!
My mother is a psychotic woman!!! Long story!!!!
So more of the story is as far as I'm concerned it's alright if you have giving fair warning that if the child misbehaves to smack them enough to re-inforce your authority AS A PARENT!!!
BUT DO NOT OVER DO IT!!!!!
Otherwise you end up with what we have now a lawless society that don't care one little bit!!!
There i go off on my soapbox again sorry!!

My brother is of the opinion that smacking of his six year old little monster is outlawed. This kid knows what he can get away with and does he make their life hell. When he is out of control during one of his tantrums my visit is usually cut short as i will find other
places to be.Oh
well i didn't make the rules and he wouldn' get away with it if he was
mine.
Cheers Mark

I've noticed a huge rise in crime since feminism was introduced - doesn't mean it's relevant... it's called correlation not causality mate!

Ha ha. excellent point. I've noticed a huge rise in crime since I've been old enough to be conscious of it, therefor my consciousness causes it. LOL

Bware
does that mean if you drink enough you could single handedly lower the crime rate?
