Nobody's reading them anymore so why waste the space. OK OK I know webpages earn more $ for more clicks but this is just cheap. Even this thread has nearly twice the
views of the last three Mega things put together!!

The way I read it you only get points by providing feedback to an article via the feedback option at the end of the article, not by starting a thread with the title Megadraw feedback. I agree with you Ian hopefully the
forum will be cleaned up, and yes I just ignore threads with "that" title.

When I open up the site I have it opened with response times and 50 threads to the page. Out of those 50 threads, 8 were of the Megadraws, this is the only one I've opened and I'm not at all interested in the others.

no....its not crappy....but one should not get points for making a post to the
forum....just "feedback" to the sites' helpfull areas such as
shop, plot files, cooking, trek notes etc etc.....
as i said in post before this...i think dave has created a monster.....

The
forum owners have tried something to try and enhance their business. Any business owner worth their salt will try techniques to improve their trade. It is an innovative attempt and whether it works for them is a decision they will make.
If you're not interested, simply don't read the posts. Sort of like getting a cup of tea, or going to the Khazi when the ads come on TV.
It certainly is NOT CRAP. It is a legitimate marketing idea that offers benefits to those who choose to participate. Those who choose not to, are free to do so.

FORUM THANKYOU VERY MUCH - and yes Im yelling cos I can....
If you notice on the bar across the top it says other things like TRADER,
SHOP,TREKS,TOPICS,
PLACES,DIRECTORY,MEMBER etc etc etc....
It is a very good business idea to get things moving along a bit more - good on them I reckon - gets their members involved in more that just the idle chat...

I do not (and did not) want the
forum cluttered up with article feedbacks that are simply entered to acheive points in the draw. The idea is to have people enter valid feedback in the hundreds of article pages not just bombard the Mega Draw pages with what is really only dud feedback in order to acheive points.
We want to encourage people to read the articles and use the feedback to interact about the topic of the article, this makes for a type of grouping system to keep articles and
forum feedback together and helps new users who read the article to see how the
forum works and gain additional un-biased information on the contents of the articles.

Thank you David. You have explained the problem much more eloquently than I did. It seems many more are of the same opinion as myself.
The points for submissions idea is a good way of encouraging contributors, but the way it was abused for personal gain was not on.
Thanks for a great website and keep the improvements coming.

Wouldn't have a clue if you did or didn't, that emain is for registering to forums only, i haven't visited it for that long, it's probably got hundreds of unread emails by now.
